Four Four Films offers services in English and French and we also have a proficiency in working in Michif French. As an indigenous owned company, we take great pride in sharing the stories from the indigenous people of Canada.
In addition to working on large scale TV productions, we’ve worked with many small and medium sized businesses and it is our goal to provide video production services at an affordable rate!
While 4/4 Films is owned and operated by filmmaker Chris Gaudry, there’s not one video on this website that was a solo effort. It’s therefore important to recognize the countless clients, writers, and crew who were instrumental in the success of these projects.

BIO
Chris Gaudry (he/him) is a Métis director, writer and producer from Winnipeg, Canada. His accomplishments in television and media production do not come from carrying out a carefully constructed plan, they are a result of an incessant pursuit of his passions.
For the past eight years, Gaudry has worked as a director and writer on a number of television shows, most recently on a french language television show titled Manaachihtow (a Michif word meaning rescued or saved), which is currently in production. The 26x24 tv series, which is slated for broadcast on Radio Canada (CBC ICI TÉLÉ) in 2024, is a youth-focused television series that follows the adventures of a wildlife rescue organization that rescues and rehabilitates wild animals and releases them back into the wild.
In 2017 Chris had the opportunity to co-direct a French language television series titled Au Pays des Michif for BELL Quebec's discovery channel, Canal D. The show explored the cultural background of the Michif people in St Laurent Manitoba, a richly Métis dense community where the traditional practices of the Métis are still a part of everyday life. Working in both the French language as well as Michif, the show was a chance for Gaudry to explore foundational topics such as environmental sustainability, hunting and harvesting, importance of language, and the balance of tradition vs. modernization.
Exploring these fundamental topics through a Métis lens demonstrated that the Métis, like all indigenous communities, have a strong voice in shaping the future and it was thrilling for Gaudry to help propel their voice in this format. This opportunity set the stage for Gaudry to focus on building a body of work that was both meaningful to him as well as impactful on society.
In 2019, the show was picked up by Canada's Indigenous broadcaster, APTN, and re-branded as an English and Michif language show titled, Michif Country. Gaudry has already completed work as writer and director on the first two seasons of Michif Country and is currently working on season three.
In the summer of 2021, he also directed 3 episodes French language environmental TV series titled, La Terre En Nous. This new enviro-documentary series was a good fit for Gaudry since it explored environmental solutions through an indigenous lens.
In 2021, Gaudry was tapped by Dr. Ian Mauro of the University of Winnipeg's Prairie Climate Center to work on a series of short films related to climate change. The film's topics included Métis Knowledge and Climate Change, Métis Perspectives on Climate Change and Conservation, and The Impacts of Climate Warming on Commercial Fishing in St Laurent. Once again Gaudry was thrilled to take part in an evergreen film project that helped propel the voices of Métis knowledge keepers.
Gaudry was recently invited to take part in Cinémania in Montreal where he participated as a delegate. At this event he screened a preview cut of a new short films titled L”Appel Du Vide, which is slated for release in spring of 2023
Gaudry is also founder of 4/4 Films (aka. Four Four Films) a boutique video production company located in Winnipeg. Maintaining 4/4 Films has allowed Gaudry to continue to work on non-broadcast related projects such as music videos, short form stories, commercials, and art projects. Having the flexibility to move around formats has allowed him to be creative on a variety of projects and continue to work towards what makes him tick, inspiring people and building a meaningful body of work (www.fourfourfilms.ca)
Gaudry continues to write music and plays drums in Winnipeg based band Federal Lights (www.federallights.org/) who are planning to release new material in late 2023.
